Anyone have experience with resistant nipple thrush? I have been on diflucan for 4 weeks, used nystan cream, jack newmans nipple ointment, vinger rinses etc. and nothing! My nipples are bright red and super irritated. My OB doesn't know what else to do and suggested I stop breastfeeding at this point. My LO is only 2 1/2 months old and i really dont want to stop yet. Please help!

My LO aas treated with diflucan and then nystatn since they did not want to give her diflucan for more than 2 weeks. Her tongue was solid whit but now it just has a white film. They said they are not sure if it is still thrush or just a milk stain (it doesnt come off). The pedi said she will eventually get rid of it on her own and is not worried.

Have you spoke to the pediatrician and your general practitioner? At this point, you should be done seeing the ob. Raye is right, mom and baby need to be treated at the same time.

Fresh raw pineapple can help clear thrush in the mouth. Not sure about the nipples. Are you addressing the problem in your baby's mouth? Your baby can pass thrush on to you, so it's important to seek treatment for yourself and your baby at the same time. Otherwise, you may pass the infection back and forth.
