Hi! My period is always on time! Like clock work! Last Feb. I spotted for just a couple day, and I thought that was odd. I took a couple tests and they were negative. I didn't have a period at all in March, took a few tests, all negative! Even went to the doctor & it said negative! But I just knew something was up. I took a few test throughout April, all negative. April 29th I took one that said positive! Went to the doctor the next day & they confirmed it! No doubt next time I will have a blood test done! You are not alone! Good luck!

Hi Nicola,

I was in your shoes early this year & I didn't have my period for 3 months - it was all due to stress.

Nicola, Getting a neg. on pregnancy test doesn't always mean your not pregnant. My first son I had my period for 7 months out of my pregnancy. When I was 2 months was sicker then a dog. Went to the ER and they did blood and urine and both came out negative. They gave me medicine for a virus that your not suppose to take pregnant and my body was rejecting them thenk god. I would as like was recommended and go see your doctor and discuss this with him. There have been a number of women who have gone thru this... Hope you get some answers soon.

1) Did you just have the baby? If so that happens it takes about 30 to 45 days for the body to get back to normal. 2) Did you have a c-section because I had one and it threw my body out of sync. 3) The best thing to do is to speak to you OBGYN.

Quoting Jennifer:

Are you showing any signs of being pregnant? My test was positive right away. But, I have also experienced false positive tests which really are disappointing! A blood serum test may be your only option if you want to find out ASAP. I would wait a day or two and test again using my first morning urine. That's when the pregnancy hormone is at it's strongest. Best wishes.

yea i have been feeling tired and sick i nearly vomited twice today :(

Hi Nicola,

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I too had a negative test despite being 2 weeks post my date. In fact I went to the doctor and he confirmed that I was not pregnant. And then one week later, I started feeling sick, and took a test.....................it was positive!

Pregnancies are funny things. See a doctor ifyou are really going bonkers. Otherwise, wait for a week and test again.

Good luck n God bless!

Every time I took the test the first time it was negative (I have three boys) I had to go to the Dr for a blood test

I had two negative tests in my first pregnancy. Second time around I just went straight for the blood test. Only way to know for sure :)

Hi there!
I would check with the doc if the test results don't change soon :0) You don't want to end up on that t.v. series "I didn't know I was pregnant" lol :) (kidding). Seriously, I had a girlfriend that went through the same thing- She had no period & all of the over the counter pregnancy tests came back negative. Unfortunately because they didn't have insurance at the time, she didn't go to a doctor for quite some time (only relying on over the counter pregnancy tests) only to find out she was 8 months pregnant & going to have a baby soon! Craziness, but thankfully everything turned out wonderfully :).

My husband and I were trying to conceive for a few months, and there were months my period would be a week late, of course I would get my hopes up only to have a negative test and my period would start two weeks late. Then I was right on schedule for a few months, and all of the sudden I'm a day late, I don't know what it was but something told me to take a test, and sure enough I was finally pregnant, and it was a very dark positive result :^D. I would say wait another week, then take another test. If it's still negative go to your doctor and have yourself checked out. My sister in law doesn't have periods much, and she's not on any kinda birth control. She went 8 months without a period, she has some female issues or something, they really don't know exactly what causes it. So if she was pregnant she would never know, and I always think she should take a test monthly to be on the safe side, but I'm sure she would refuse. She's going to be on that show "I didn't know I was pregnant" if she's not careful. It's best if you make sure if you are or aren't b/c if you are you want to start prenatal care.

With my first child I had a couple negative home tests and a negative blood test. I had a full blown period also, all in the early stages of my pregnancy. I finally got a positive blood test a couple weeks later when I insisted that the doctor test me again. I was charting at the time and new I was pregnant. I just had to wait until there was a strong enough hormone level for the test to read correctly, I guess. I think I was 7 weeks before I got a positive test. I would go get a blood test, then wait a couple weeks. Stress could also be slowing down your period. Try to relax and not stress about it. Let your body balance out! I know it's hard!

I did that on several occasions and wasn't pregnant. Mine was due to a lot of stress at the time. However, when I did get pregnant, I showed negative until I was about 6 to 7 weeks along. Went to dr. and did the urine test for the confirmation. I would wait another week and if nothing happens, then off to the drs. I would go. Good luck!!

Nicola,

I know that this stinks. But don't fret about it because it will make it worse. I am one of those people that has a cycle about every other month and a half so I know where you are coming from.

sometimes your body just doesn't have a period. I haven't had one in over a month and a half, and there's no way i'm pregnant again. ever since my c-section, my periods have been all over the place. but if you're trying to conceive, go to the doctor. He's your best bet.

I haven't had one for bout 7 months now (and i'm not pregnant). A lot is to do with stress. I tested negative on my son until i was 4 months gone, the ended up doing a blood test to confirm this. Try your doctors for advice on the best form of contraception as the pill or the coil doesn't work for everyone. xx

Some people just don't produce enough of the pregnancy hormone for simple urine tests to show you're pregnant. Go to your doctor for a blood test, which is the most accurate way of telling.

It could be a number of things, from stress to medical complications. My recommendation would be to wait a bit longer, if you are not having any other symptoms, and then try another home test if you do not get your period, or head to your OB or the local health department for professional testing. The health department won't administer a blood test, which is far more accurate if the pregnancy hormone is not strongly present, so your OB would likely be your best bet if you are truly concerned.

Go to the dr. I knew I was at 3 weeks, but the test came up negative. The blood test was the only thing that said I was expecting. Good luck!!

I'm going through the same thing you are. I'm over 3 weeks late and everything is negative so I guess its either you wait or go to the doctor.

Hi Nicola I havent had that happen to me but I know of a ladey who had periods throughout her pregnancy and she didnt even realise she was expecting. Strange things happen. I would go to the Doctors for help and advise. I wish u all the best whatever happens. Jenny.
