what does she have in her room that HELPS her sleep? how bright is her room when she goes to sleep?

our brain is on what is known as the circadian rhythm. When there is light, our brain thinks it is day time, regardless of how much sleep we have. so if you put your daughter to sleep with the lights on, she will not be able to sleep... In my daughter's room (who is afraid of the dark) I have a night light and have the closet light on, and we close the door to where the room is BARELY BARELY lit... ALSO soothing noises are good for sleep... get her a "white noise" maker for her room, or play mozart on a CD that is on repeat, so that she has music all night long. these things should help her stay asleep.

this website says that children at the age of 3 should be getting 12-14hrs of sleep per day. let her know this too. Maybe she can help you figure out what time she needs to go to sleep and what time is appropriate for her to wake up... and when she needs a nap and how long should that nap be. (ignore the last part if she goes to day care... they give them about a 2hr nap if not longer)
