I am in need of some help. my son is almost 22 months and hes not talking at all like no words nothing. im really worried his speech teacher said hes 10 months behind on talking but that's the only thing. everything is fine we talk to him all the time and ask him what he wants and all he does is point to things he wants. im starting to get really worried. any other mommies out there with the same problem??

He could very well be the quiet type for now and will one day open up and tell you all about it. But I do know also for a fact that boys do tend to fall behind girls when talking too. My son could say some choice big words like names of movie characters but to get him to say common ones was like talking to a brick wall. So, I had to tell him when he pointed, "You want the ......" And in doing this along with just talking in plain words not baby talk he eventually got to that point where he could use words in small sentences. He is such a talker now I wish he was the silent type sometimes, LOL. He is now almost 17. Give your child some time to do things on his own terms. And keep up the therapy too. It does wonders. I have seen kids you had to have it and in several months time they were talking even better than what was expected at their age.

yes he is in speech therapy. there going to be putting in in a more advance one. i did speak to his doctor and she said all he needs is to be continuing his therapy and everything should work and she reminded me that he will speak when he is ready and he could just be stubborn.

Have you talk to his doctor? He may need early speech intervention To help his talking. Speech problems are common and can be out grown. See your doctor.
