My 3.5 year old son falls under some characteristics of autism & ADD but has not been diagnosed. He has little interest in his 2 year old sister ...is doing great academically...preschool 4 mornings per week...loves puzzles, books, apps on my phone...just looking for some guidance/tips on getting him to be more attentive to his surroundings & socializing more????

I agree with Jodi in not being interested in the younger sibling and especially at his age.

Have you talked to his pre-school teachers about his behaviour in pre-school? If he was having social issues, they would have seen it, but you only mention him having no interest in his sister - that's actually pretty typical. Younger siblings are a pain.

The best thing you can do is have him evaluated for autism. The doctors and teaching aids will be able to give you more information on how to open him up as much as he can.

How does he do in preschool with the other children? Does he not pay attention to adults either?
