My daughter is 17 months but she doesn't want to eat proper food except her breakfast which is cereal. What can I do to help her eat?

I know this is probably not what you want to hear but a lot of it is the age. Children at this age don't typically eat well. They have very small stomachs, about the size of their little fist so it doesn't take much to fill them up. I will tell you what our pediatrician told me. She said that children this age will eat when they are hungry so be sure to provide them with good choice, even for snacks. A child will not starve themselves if you are providing food. My youngest daughter is 2 1/2 and still doesn't eat what I would consider much but she is not under weight by any means, she is about 37 inches tall and weighs about 31 pounds. She has certain things she eats well(cheese, yogurt, pasta, some crackers) so I always make sure we have these things. It isn't easy but she should out grow. My oldest did but not until she was about 3 or a little older. Just be patient and make sure she has good choices when she wants something to eat. Hugs!
Also make sure that you are sitting down to meals together and give her a little bit of everything that you are having. Yes you know that she will probably not eat it but she may try something and find she likes it or she may eat more than you expect it all depends on the day with a toddler.
