My husband insists that if my daughter makes any noise at night (even just rolling over) that I go get her and change her diaper. I try to explain that it is disrupting her sleep and she is totally capable of sleeping through the night without being changed and it will not harm her. He will usually guilt me into waking her and as a result she no longer sleeps through the night; I assume she is used to waking up now. I use tons of cream on her bottom, nighttime diapers, and the only time she has ever had diaper rash was from antibiotic induced diarrhea. Help anyone??

If he was that insistent on it then I would have made him get up!
Aside from that, If they haven't woken up I wouldn't wake them just to change them.
Now that she's in the habit of waking up you need to get her out of it. When she wakes go in and gentle pat her back or soothe her. Don't pick her up and she should get used to going back to sleep.

I'll add that based on the vast amount of discussion among moms regarding diapers that last the whole night, the majority of parents don't change diapers at night.

Generally, if your child wakes to be changed, they need to be changed. If they are just fussing, but diaper is dry, then all is well, and baby will settle back to sleep quickly if calmed.

However, if the diaper is wet/soiled, you really should change it. Would YOU want to sleep with your butt either swimming in urine, or covered with shit? I wouldn't!

When our babies were very young (like brand new!) and still pooped at night we changed their diapers. Night pooping stopped quickly though. I'm sure we weren't changing diapers at night after two weeks or three weeks. And I certainly never woke a baby up to change their diaper. The diaper would get changed when they woke to nurse.
