Don't worry about putting pics up for the rest of us, wait a few days and try again, if still unsure then go in to your doctor and if the urine test doesn't work out ask for a blood test they are more accurate then the urine test is.

i took a negative at the doctors only to find out 5 days later it was a positive, if you are very early on it may be too early to be accurate

with my first daughter the test showed the horizontal line of the plus sign and only small peices of the vertical. I thought it was defective but i found out a couple days later at the dr i was pregnant just very early on so it wasnt enough hormone to make a full line.

Its a joke (the little bit pregnant), if you are under 6 weeks the line is extremely faint but there. Therefore a little bit pregnant :0)

As my little sister said to me once, "Well maybe you arent pregnant its just faint" and I responded with "thats because im just a little bit pregnant".

Congrats on the pregnancy!!

If there is a line even if it is faint then you are pregnant. You are probably very early in the pregnancy that you don't have much hormones to make the line dark. That happened to me, I took the test as soon as I missed my period, the day I was supposed to get my period I took a test. I went to the doctor and at first they told me it was negative (the test they use was very faint also) then they saw the line very faintly and they said it was positive.

Just take another test and pay attention when the time is up. Evaporation lines don't count. There are false negatives, not false positives (in most cases, very rare exceptions). Waiting too long is not going to make you pregnant just because the line shows up with evaporation.

Sarah - it didn't take 5 of your tests 3 weeks to show, the test is ruined by then and evaporation makes the lines appear, this would also be true if you weren't pregnant - most likely 3 weeks later the stick would show positive... I didn't realise people kept pregnancy tests they urinated on lying around for 3 weeks....

how can you be a bit pregnant? Generally the tests go by a hormone which is present in urine only after the placenta starts forming once an egg is fertilised. A faint line can be that there isn't much hormone present which would mean you are very early on in the pregnancy, but it still means your pregnant. You are more likely to get a false negative than a false positive (although some medicines can contain the hormone which would give a false positive)

My tests have always started out really really faint and I thought it wasn't positive. After taking another one a week or so later, the positive line was darker.

Why cant you tell? Is the line faint? That just means you are a little bit pregnant.

If you really can't tell then either take it to the doctors to see what they think or buy another test and try again - maybe try a different test.

generally:
0 lines - test didn't work
1 line - test worked, not pregnant
2 lines - test worked, pregnant

as mentioned lines can be very faint
