So you say that you are zoned for the San Juan school district, but you want your child to go to Pioneer school in the Twin Rivers school district because it's closer?

But the Pioneer school doesn't have an appropriate spec. ed program for your child?

I think you are going to need to find a parent advocate to sort this out. I ran a Google search on Twin Rivers School District and Parent Advocate, and this court case came up in the search:

Your children do have legal rights to a free education. Unfortunately, school budgets are extremely tight, and some parents have to fight tooth and nail for their kids education.

In our case, we took up K12 homeschooling, which is a free charter school that works with the school districts. They provide your child with a computer and all of the school materials. It does require supervising the children and being a "learning coach," but it's pretty easy to get the hang of it. I spend 5-6 hours per day acting as my child's learning coach. I mention this because it's an option. Here's the link to k12: http://www.k12.com/schools-programs/onli...
