My 11 month old Cries , with tears when his newborn baby sister cries, it rouses him out of a sound sleep even and he is really sad. Has anyone experienced this?

Absolutely. Mammals are wired to be distressed by the sound of crying (it's not just humans). I've known a lot of children to be very disturbed by the sound of crying babies. It really, really upset my brother... especially when he was a toddler.

Because your old child is so young it's a really difficult situation. He's too young to explain things, or to talk through emotions. As much as possible, I would just try to comfort him and demonstrate how you comfort a baby.

Also, respect how he is feeling. This is a natural reaction for him. So for example, I would say things like "the baby is hungry, she cries when she's hungry" or the "the baby is sad, does that make you sad?" or even just "oh, you're feeling sad". I wouldn't say things like "don't cry" or "stop crying" or "be a big boy".
