Olive or Coconut oil for biracial baby?

I have a 3 1/2 month old mixed baby girl (black&white) with a full head of hair. Would it be alright to massage her scalp with olive oil or coconut oil every couple weeks? I want to keep her hair very healthy & stimulate her hair growth..

Unless you are frequently shampooing or she has a flaky scalp (cradle cap), such a young baby should not need even a natural oil to be added to her curls. Shampoo once a week with a mild sulfate free 'poo and let her natural oils do the trick. If her hair seems dry, spritz with water. Water will soften and hydrate her hair. This is often the age when babies of color (black or biracial) begin to lose the silky, straight, wavy, or loosely curly newborn hair. What replaces it may be a different texture and have different care needs.
