One year old and only two teeth?

My one year old baby girl only has 2 teeth that she got when she was 4 months-ish...Whenever we run into other babies who are around the same age as her, they always seem to have at least 4, usually more. Should I be worried about how long it's taking her to get more teeth or is she just a late bloomer?

No worries my daughter didnt sprout teeth until she was about 13 months old! And when she did sprout them finally she only got her 2 bottom teeth. Now she is 22 months old and it still looks like she only has her 2 bottom teeth but her molars are starting to come in and her 4 top teeth are slowly making there way down. I was concerned but my doc said that he has never seen a child go to kindergarten w/out any teeth so I guess some kids are just slower than others. I heard that the longer the teeth take to come in the better-some say they are stronger and healthier and more likely to come in straight-who knows. Dont worry they will come!!

my son got his 4 front teeth all in the same day at 6 months old. Now he is 13 months and he is getting his molars all 4 in about 2 weeks. He has no other teeth and are getting them out of order. I just figure one day he will get all his teeth.

Every baby is different, by the time my girl was 1 she had every tooth except for the molars and those came within the following few months. They all develop at different rates, the teeth will come, don't worry! =)

My granddaughter who is almost 2 didnt get most of her teeth until she was around 18 months old. She only had 2 for a long time so dont worry all babies are different.

Quoting Amanda:

My son turned 1 on October 1st. And he only has 2 teeth as well. And i think the same thing i see kids his age and think..why does he only have 2 teeth? Its hard to give him alot of foods bc he doesnt have teeth to chew them. But the Dr. told me not to worry =)

I think that you may be suprised with the things that he is actually able to eat. OUr son only has two teeth and can eat anything! LOL :)

LOL Don't worry. All 3 of mine were still toothless at 12 months. They also didn't lost teeth until they older. It is ok. Everyone is different. If the teeth are not present, they cannot decay. LOL Anyway, my oldest lost her last baby tooth at age 16! No issues. Relax....

Relax and dont worry about it! My mother in law told me that my husband never cut his first tooth until he was 13 months old! Hiis first tooth came in and he took his first steps at the same time! One thing about it though, they say the longer they take to get their teeth, the better their teeth will be. My husband has wonderful teeth. He's only ever had like 2 cavities, never had a toothache, never any problems at all. His brother cut his teeth at 4 months, and has had teeth pulled, root canals, etc. I would say she's just a late bloomer so be patient ! you eventuall be glad she waited so long! :) Good luck!

My oldest didn't have any teeth at a year old. The pediatrician told us not to worry about them coming in late.

My pediatrician and doctor both said not to worry unless my daughter hit 18 months without cutting any teeth - after that they said she would need evaluation. She didn't actually get her first tooth until she was almost 16 months - she's 19 months now and has 6, with more starting to come in. I think every baby is different, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Don't worry you're not the only one :) Our son will be a year on the 26th of this month and he only has two teeth also. Every baby is different and you should not worry. She will get more :)
