My daughter is a 12 month old baby who I have exclusively breastfeed and am currently weaning. She slept through the night until 9 months and has been waking multiple times ever since (just like her doctor said she would). She has used me a pacifier for naps and in the middle of the night. I have no problem comforting her but this is getting very out of control the older she has gotten. She stands up immediately (she's in our room) and screams. I pick her up and nurse her back to sleep but when I try to put her back into her crib she wakes up. So I end up letting her fall asleep in bed with us because we are both so tired. The problem with that is that she such a light sleeper she can wake up 6 more times while in bed with us! I have tried calming her down then laying her down but it only angers her and she hits, screams and becomes hysterical instead of calm. I really need to know if anyone else has experienced this and what may work! The lack of sleep of course is hard for me but I am 100% more concerned with her not getting enough sleep and her inability to soothe herself. I believe a parent should soothe their baby but isn't it bad for her that she is waking up so many times and taking short naps?
