One of the twins has pinkeye...bio mom said the other twin had it for 4 or 5 days and it went away on its own...but this twin woke up with both eyes matted completely shut this morning so I googled it and she likely has bacterial conjunctivitis (pinkeye) and needs antibiotic eye drops or ointment. We've consulted with bio mom about it and she suggested to just keep using warm washcloth and it will go away. But it says bacterial pinkeye can last up to ten days if not treated. We've been following all the sanitation rules since we have other children here and don't want it to spread. My question is should we go ahead and seek Dr's advice about antibiotics or not...or just wait a few days and see if it gets better or worse? And has anyone else dealt with pinkeye lately? What did you do?

Thank you Sarah. That's what I was thinking. Just didn't want to seem paranoid...I'm suggesting to them that we take her to Dr ASAP.

Yes you need antibiotics for pink eye. That is a must. It does not just go away on its own. It is also HIGHLY contagious. Anything she touches is going to carry it. Also left untreated can effect the eye or eyes long term. Seek medical attention and get antibiotics. It is simple and easy and fixes the issue right away.
