Our 19 Month Old Little Girl is always hungry to the point that if we are eating anything outside her eating times (which is anytime hence this post), she wants more. I know she needs to grow and she is doing a great job but she doesn't stop!!

We have started to keep a food diary and 1500 - 1600 calories is about her average daily intake.

Is this normal? I cant remember it being this way with the older 3 monkey's.

The short answer is yes, it's normal, some kids will eat non-stop. Now the question is whether this is something new or whether it's been going on for a while. If it's the latter, and her growth is steady and proportional (IOW, she's not particularly heavy for her height) then it could just be that she will be larger (not fat, just big) than her sibs. If it's the former, it could be as growth spurt. If memory serves me right, her next check up should be at 21 months, so that would be a good time to talk to your ped to make sure everything is on track and not a case of her having an over-active thyroid or not absorbing certain nutrients, etc. Good luck!

Thanks for that, She is eating normal adult meals so Healthy is not a problem but I think the vitamin idea could be it. She was Lactose intolerant as a baby and was having special milk and obviously no dairy products but now she is fine with just about any food you put in front of her.

different kids grow at different rates, and when a baby is growing they require more "fuel" make sure that you are giving her HEALTHY choices. ALSO give her chewable vitamins... i know that when you are lacking in a certain vitamin your body sends you signals that translate into hunger, so that could be another explanation. so remember - vitamins and healthy food choices.
