Sounds like contractions at least thats how they felt for me a stabbing pain in the vagina area and cramps or like painful gas. I had some leakage as well which was my water slowly breaking. Go to your Doctor or the er and get checked!

Ok well..Here's reasons to go into L&D

If you lose your plug, usually a brownish color jelly like glob.

If you leak fluids, even in drips, on a constant basis. Like i said put on a pad because they will need to test the fluid to make sure it is amniotic fluid.

If you notice any blood

Your baby isn't as active as it normally is. Mind you babies sleep too, so if you notice this first try drinking something cold to wake them up.

If you have contractions that last one minute and happen every 10 minutes (I'm assuming it's your first but if it's not then it's every 5 minutes) and increase in intensity. This should happen for no less than 30 minutes before deciding to pack up and go.

Contractions usually start in the back and move forward into the belly. Although sometimes the pain can be either all belly or all back (i've had it all 3 ways)

Then call your doctor.

Watch for signs of labor. Your doctor did give you a list of them right?

I'm not saying you're in labor but you might be getting very close to it. Try to get some sleep, drink lots of water. Try to relax some.

Is it constant or comes and goes?

Have you recently had sex?

Either way I would suggest you call your doctor as soon as you can and ask them. You should be having weekly appointments and if it's in a few days maybe just bring it up then. If it is your only symptom I would say it's not labor but when in doubt bother your doctor, they are used to it.

Depends on what you mean. Pressure type of pain is normal. Is it burning, stinging, throbbing, ect.
