Hi ladies

Does anyone experience pain during the ovulating time?? I left my birth control pill end of July and got my first normal period on the 23rd September and I experienced this pain before I started my period and when I did a bit more research it all lead me to ovulating pains and I think I might be getting that I'm not sure. I am getting those pains again now, it feels like period pains but it comes and goes the whole time, some nausea and breasts are a bit sore. We are also not using any protection at the moment and not sure what the chances are of me falling pregnant after I had my first normal period??

Hi Raye

Thank you for your reply. I will keep an eye on things with my body perhaps I'm still settling in from being off the pill. I know with my second son we fell pregnant right away so I'm sure anything is possible.

If you're having unprotected sex, you could get pregnant at any time. I know people that took months to get pregnant after they stopped the pill, and people that got pregnant immediately.

The average ovulation time is about 2 weeks before your period. I sometimes get a little twinge from one ovary or the other around that time, but nothing like period cramps, and not pregnancy symptoms. But people's bodies are different and what happens with me may not be the same for you.

If you're concerned, speak with a doctor.
