I would go and see your GP and in the meantime make sure you protect yourself with a second form of contraception. If you have had sex in the last 3 days I would ask for the morning after pill because there is a slim chance you could be pregnant. The faster you see your doctor the better if you have been having sex. If not there is no problem but you do need to get contraception.

I'm no expert but it's to my understanding that it simply fell out. It could have been placed wrong or maybe the uterus just expelled it. It means that you need to use a backup form of birth control like condoms until you can go see your doctor, to either get it put back in or decide on another method of birth control.
