I think it must depend on where you live. A parent cannot revoke their rights in Australia unless there is someone else willing to legally adopt the child.

It's not up to you... it's up to the court. Some places have the law that a parent (father or mother) can sign away their rights for just about any reason.... other places will only allow one parent to sign away his/her rights if the other parent has a spouse willing to adopt the child and 'fill in the gap.' Your daughter's father needs to seek a lawyer and ask what his rights are here. Again though... it's not up to you. You could certainly fight it even if the law says he can... I'm sure, but I have no idea if it will matter.

It depends on where you live, in the US, he would have to file a petition with a court and basically give a good enough reason to give up his parental rights and then MAYBE it would be granted but not likely.

If he does not want to be in this child's life he can get his rights revoked on his own if he wants. You can not stop him.

That would be a question for an attorney.

But, I would think that, since a woman can get an abortion without the male's permission, a man can choose to give up rights. At least, that would be more fair.
