My 17 year old son was 85 lbs in October. His body had not started change. After many visits to traditional doctors, who tested him for Celiac--which came back negative, we decided to take him to a wellness doctor. My son had stomach pain daily for years. We did more extensive testing with the wellness doctor and learned our son was intolerant to gluten, however not Celiac. We learned due to the gluten intolerance or sensitivity he developed malabsorption, which will affect growth and delay puberty. The Endocrinologist have now look at him more seriously and determined he also has ulcerative colitis, due to the gluten issue. His symptoms are much improved due to probiotics, as well as GFCF Enzymes. With some help from the Endocrinologist he has gained 35lbs in the last 4 months, grown 4 inches and has started puberty. We have now learned that I as well as one of my other sons is also gluten sensitive. Persistence pays!!!
