My daughter 11 just got her periods since 2 months. She is very regularly and have really bad cramps, pain in her legs. It is so bad that she can't go to school. Is this normal at this age? I know I had it as a teenager in the age of 16, but she is so young and need to go through this all is sad for her I think. I give her heat packs and pain relieve but still she is laying double in bed crying from the pain. Any one else who has this experience, and what did you do to give some relieve?

It can be. My daughters both started their periods at 11.5/12 years old. For the first year they missed about a day of school per month because I couldn't get them out of bed on the first day of it. There are still some issues, but they've been having their periods for 2 years now... so the situation has improved some.

No she isn't faking at all. And pain in the legs relate for sure to menstrual Pain. I had it as a teen all the time, sometimes I could not walk from the pain in my legs and back. I even had diarrhoea the first time of my periods. She loves school and she hates it when she can't go because she is not well. I will see my GP soon, the only thing what helped me was going on the pill, but she is way to young for that

Are you sure she's not faking just to get out of school? Have you had her checked out by a doctor? Pain in the legs doesn't seem right for menstrual cramps.
