After i had my baby on March 3, 2011. I went to my 8 week check up and i have decide to have IUD(paragard) as my birth control. After that i started my period couple days later. My period was normal before i got pregnant, now its all whacked up after i had IUD. My period was 2 week period. Ugh, before i had IUD its was only for 5 days now its 2 week long. I miss a period in september and i took a test and it said negative. And then i had my period in october and november. I've been bleeding for 3 weeks and i don't know whats wrong with me.

My sister had the paragard and was having the same problems. She had to have her's removed because the harmonies from it was to high. I had the mirena for three years and I only had 6 periods from it. I just recently had to have it removed because it shifted. They are good because it better than getting shots, remembering pills and other things but they do have side effects. I would go to the doctor asap. Because bleeding like that is not healthy, I wish you the best of luck.

The same thing happened when I went on the pill then it stopped and my period is now clock work.

I would definitely call your doctor. I have the mirena and I haven't had a period in months, when I do get it it's literally a day of spotting, this was of course after the first nightmarish 8 weeks. By now your body should of regulated, like Michelle said it may not be the right birth control for you.

I've never had an IUD but I did have the Implanon a few years ago and I bled for 6 months. They told me it can take around that long for your body to get used to it.

I would go and see your doctor. It may not be the right birth control for you.

ETA: I got the implanon taken out after the 6 months because it was costing me a fortune in sanitary products. Most women it stops their periods completely but not me!
