How do I get my 2 year old to eat foods other than oatmeal, rice, & french fries? She is very picky when it comes to food. Occasionally she will eat eggs, but that's it. What she eats today, she wont eat tomorrow...How can I get her to like other foods...I'm starting to worry...

If my daughter doesnt eat her fruit or veges she gets nothing else until she does. I wouldnt worry honestly if a child is hungry enough they will eat. Alot of people told me after meals times were horror I spent every meal time yelling at her for about an hour or more to eat, but they said take her food away after 20 minutes no snacks or anything in between then give her the next meal (or reserve the other one if its something you want her to eat). Trust me she wont starve herself. Just dont give her any of the other foods, until shes eaten what you want her to eat

I know what you are going through! My daughter was terrible the texture of different foods was too much for her, we had screaming arguments every meal time I was worried sick! Familiarity is the key.she would noteat chicken eggs mince burgers sausages at one point all she would eat was plain pasta and toast. Every Thursday for about 2 months I made spaghetti Bol after 2 months of us ooing and saying she asked to try it, once she was eating that regularly I did the same thing with roast potatoes then bananas it takes time but you can do this without the tension in the mean time if doc says healthy then just stay calm try cereal and milk even if full of sugar! You have my sympathy and support message me if you want to talk more

@ Gwen, I cook a lot of different foods, & she just wont eat them, so I always go back to what I know she will eat. Thanks Ladies, I will definitely try that.

Cook a normal variety of meals that don't include french fries or rice for awhile. She'll never try other foods if you keep giving in to her pickiness. There are things I've been offering my daughter for almost 3 years that she FINALLY decided to like last week! lol. It takes time, but she won't starve.

Just keep offering a variety of foods. If she refuses what you give her, don't give in and give her what she wants. A child will not starve herself to death. Sure, she may not eat a meal or 2, but sooner rather than later, she'll realize she doesn't like being hungry and will eat.
