I fed mine what I was eating, when I was eating, and supplemented with a morning and afternoon snack in between.

Schedule? Nope, never used one. Just make sure you're covering the food groups daily, and let your little one eat like a human, not an automaton!

I'm just always sure to offer a protein, grain, veggie and or fruit and a dairy with every meal. Our son who is 4 eats 3 well rounded meals and 2 snacks or so a day. Do away with the schedule and let him eat around normal meal times. Here is a link to a website with some helpful information.

Let him eat what you eat, eat whenever he's hungry, and stop when he's full. I never had any 'chart' to feed my kids by. MOST kids will eat when they are hungry and stop when they are full as long as no one is interfering with them listening to their hunger cues (by making them eat when they aren't hungry or not allowing them to eat when they are hungry).

That does not sound like enough for a child at nearly age 2. THey should be getting a lot of protein as well in that diet. This does not seem like enough amount for a child to eat during the day.

My children eat what we eat when we eat. Why is it so regimented? At that age they do like to graze during the day as well instead of having set meal times.
