Please Help!!

Hi there, my name is Nat & I seriously feel like I am losing the plot. I have an IUD (Mirena) in for 4.5 years & have not had a period since 2004 when I fell pregnant with my daughter. I had an IUD inserted after her birth & fell pregnant with twins 3.5years later. I miscarried one & my son is now 5 years old. So anyway, for the past 5 weeks I've been having pregnancy symptoms. Extreme diarrhoea, tired, moody, extremely sore boobs, teary, hungry, nausea, excess saliva, & the tell-tale sign of pregnancy for me is carpal tunnel syndrome. I am feeling pressure in my lower stomach/uterus area. I have done two HPT & both were negative. I had a blood test & that was negative. I had an ultrasound & that was negative. The pregnancy with my twins, nothing showed until I was 8 weeks pregnant. I feel as though I am losing the plot. No dr’s are taking me seriously, one telling me it is impossible to fall pregnant with an IUD in situ. She was quite surprised when I told her about my twins. So, my question is has anyone else experienced anything similar? I see so many posts I can relate to but there aren’t follow ups/updates. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Mirena loses effectiveness over time and usually needs to be replaced around 3-5 years. If you've gotten pregnant while on it before, then I assume it would be possible to be pregnant again.

No birth control method (except abstinence) is 100% effective, and different people's bodies react differently. Some people who have had their tubes tied/cut/cauterized have had the tubes regrow. And, yes, you can get pregnant using an IUD. Keep talking to your doctor.
