Please help -- child has fever after playing in toilet --

-- TWICE last night! My son is only 17 months old, and yesterday after my husband and I came home from church, we spent the rest of the evening cleaning our room. Meanwhile, other adults/cousins were playing with him. Come to find out he played in the toilet twice!! I caught him the last time, and the toilet was clean, but I don't know about the first time he played in it. But I woke up this morning and my son has a fever. And he threw up maybe a 1/2 tbsp of breastmilk (I nurse him at night) when he woke up. I'm quite concerned. Any advice? Afterall, these symptoms just started and I don't want to jump to conclusions about things...?

I already researched e. coli infection and usually symptoms can start from 1 day to 3 days after time of contamination -- but it hasn't even been 1 full day yet, so idk what to think!

Most likely he did not get the fever from playing in the toilet. To soon. If he has a tendency to do this, get one of those lid locks so he cannot do that any more. It is also a danger for him to fall in and drowned. But if you are that worried about the fever, call his doctor.
