PLEASE HELP!! Excessive hair loss

Hello everyone..I just had a baby, he is 4 months and 2 weeks old today. About a week and a half ago my hair started falling out excessively..I have lost literally more than HALF of my hair within a week and a half. I know that hair loss is very common after you have a baby, but I have bald spots all over my head, and my hair line is now in the MIDDLE (of the back of my head) rather than at the bottom of my head where it used to be. I started taking my pregnancy vitamins again to see if it would help, but everyday it just keeps getting worse and worse..If this doesnt stop soon, I will literally be completely bald within the next 2 weeks..I'm only 20 years old! :'( What can I do to stop my hair from falling out & to stop me from going completely bald?! Please help!!!!

Hi, it sounds like you must be pretty stressed. Hair loss is a great way for your body to tell you that you are stressed. It might not seem great that you are losing your hair, but at least you now know that there is a problem. The problem could be as little as the stress of a new mum, and that you just need to take a day out from your beautiful baby, meet up with some girlfriends and have a cup of peppermint or chamomile tea. Remember that babies are stressful and there is nothing bad about having to admit that it is hard. The problem could also be more serious too, especially if you are losing so much hair. My advice would be to make an appointment with your GP ASAP. Good luck and let me know how you go :)
