Hi - I am a first time mom, my son is 10 weeks old and will not stop crying no matter what we do...Unless he has a bottle in his mouth, but he goes right back to crying as soon as he finishes. I have taken him to the pediatrician a gazillion times and nothing she advises is helping.
His Dr diagnosed him w acid reflux and prescribed Zantac, which didn't help. Now he is on Nexium (5mg) which seemed to help for 8 days and then stop. He acts like he is hungry all the time but when I feed him more, he just cries more. He is currently eating 25-35oz/day. He is 12lbs. I've fed him as much as 46oz in a day. We have tried frequent small feedings as well as larger more spread out feedings.
He is fed 1/2 pumped breast milk + 1/2 formula as I just don't make enough. I have removed everything from my diet except fruit, vegetables, and meat in case it is something that I am eating. He is currently on Alimentum. We have also tried Enfamil Newborn, Gentlease, and Elecare and I have also tried giving him formula only and breast milk only, neither of which changed anything.
I've also tried gas drops, gripe water, etc.
Today I started only giving him the ready to feed formula. It was the only other thing I could think to try.
The dr says its not colic because he doesn't cry at one certain time of the day. Also, he doesn't cry at night...he will take a bottle and usually go right back to sleep.
Does anyone have any ideas? What am I doing wrong?
