Assuming you are pregnant.....this happened to me when I was pregnant (at about 5 months onward). It is normal and carpel tunnel syndrome occurred in both my hands (swelling causes the nerves and blood vessels going to the hand to be constricted). I bought arm braces to assist with this, and was advised by the DR to drink TONS of water. Also, I did not get pre eclampsia until my 8th month of pregnancy, so this MAY be a precursor to that. Check with DR to be 100%.

I know it's not preeclampsia my blood pressure is low not high. I went to ER last Monday due to chest pains and shortness of breath. They did a CT and found a hernia under my sternum, but no preeclampsia or protein in my urine. My hands have been swelling for about a week now and the numb tingly feeling started this morning, so IDK...

Ibuprofen can help reduce the swelling, as well as cold packs. I'm wondering if you have carpel tunnel in your right hand. Ask your doctor to check for you. My carpel tunnel didn't come with swelling, but who knows, right? Typically the fingers go numb.

If that's not it, you probably have a pinched nerve in your shoulder and neck area, which cuts off the circulation to your arms and hands. Look into physical therapy, or chiropractic treatments. My chiropractor corrects stuff like that then gives me exercises and stretches to do at home, which is basically physical therapy! It might take a few treatments to get things back to normal, but is well worth it.

If what one doctor suggests isn't working after a week or two, go get a second opinion. Don't be surprised if your regular doctor discourages chiropractic. I'm not sure why, but that's common. However, chiropractic is plenty safe and is a natural remedy!!! I always feel better after an adjustment and I normally go to him first with my problems. Good luck!

Yikes...that just doesn't sound good at all. I would try to see a doctor earlier than that. Do you have a walk-in clinic you can go to?

If you're pregnant, that could be a sign of preeclampsia, especially if this came on suddenly.

I don't know, Donna...I'd be going to the ER. That just doesn't sound good.
