My parents are trying to keep my boyfriend away from me and our 1 month old daughter just because they do not like him. This has been an on and off situation but now that our daughter is here my boyfriend and I can no longer deal with this. Please anybody, what should I do? We can not handle this anymore...

In most states a 17yr cannot legally move out on their own. You can always file for emancipation, but I'm not sure that's the right route. Taking your family to court should be avoided if possible. Why exactly don't your parents like your boyfriend? Are they angry at him for getting you pregnant? I think you should try and get your parents, your boyfriend & his parents to sit down and talk. Try to understand that your parents probably probably did not envision you having a baby so early in your liife. But you have to make them realize that your baby is here and she needs all her family around her most especially her father. I wish you the very best.

Let your parents know that he could technically sue for visitation of your 1 month old if she is kept away from him, and he would get it. Is that what they want? They would be FAR better off allowing him to visit on occasion under supervision.

I'm a little late, but I'd contact an authority figure. Explain your situation (You shouldn't need to give out your name address, etc) they should be able to explain the law to you. I'd also go the route of waiting until y'all are both 18 to move out. Then well y'all are legal adults the parents can't say anything. Save save save money and then ask lots of people that live on their own for advice. Keep the advice, all of it. Use what you need to and keep it all in mind!

Best wishes, hoping things have gotten better now.

I don't think they can keep him from the baby, if he is indeed the biological father. But, the rules might be different if you're a minor, that I don't know.

We both have money saved, he's been working for a while now, I also go back to work as well soon. We have enough to start off but the thing is my parents said if I left they would call the cops on me and say I ran away .. Can that happen?

Well unless you can afford to move out of home and support yourselves there's not a lot you can do. You are living in their house so have to abide my their rules.

Both me and my boyfriend are 17 years old. We also both still live with our parents.

How old are you and your boyfriend? What are your living arrangements at the moment?
