Hello Ladies,
I really need some help and encouragement.

I will start off by telling you I am the Mum to 5 kids, 4 of which are 3 and under - i know crazy right lol.
Anyways my 3 year old son has been full potty trained for about a year now, but has decided to stop pooping on the toilet and even occasionally over the past few days has been peeing in his pants too. Now i know that he has been having a rough go with alot of changes over this past little while. As we had to move out of our house due to some extensive renovations and moved in with my parents, then we welcomed twins into the mix and now 11 weeks later we are all moved back in our own house. I felt sure that the issue was going to get better once home and back into our routines. BUT guess what it is worse!!! He poops in his pants between 6-8 times a day!!! How can one little boy have so much poop?? Its not a full on poop in his pants every time its just like a little bit of poop leaks out all day long. I have literally tried everything ..... i have talked to him about all the changes and he knows that all he has to do is ask me and i will go with him to the bathroom. We have talked constantly about it and he says he wants to be a big boy and poop on the toilet and promises he will try, but then within half an hour again its the same thing. I clean him up and sit him on the toilet for what seems like forever and nothing! But sure enough in a few hours again .... the same thing. I am literally at whits end and dont know what to do. Have tried stickers and rewards which he seems into, but still messes his pants. I am running out of pacience ..... and undies!!
I know angry is never the solution but i am starting to find myself getting angry and i have to just go into a different room from him for a bit to cool off.
PLEASE i am in desperate need of some help, tips or even just encouragement that it is going to get better!!!

Wow you have your hands full!!

You could try putting him on the toilet every couple of hours, give him a little while and see if he wants to go? If he goes then make sure you give him a lot of praise and tell him how proud of him you are for being a big boy. If not then try again in a little while, sounds like he's had a lot of changes in his environment lately so it can be unsettling for children so sometimes this happens. I'm sure once he's been on the toilet a few times he'll be headed back in the right direction.

Potty training aside, 6-8 times a day sounds like too much, is it on the thin side? I'd get him to the doc's to get checked out if so just to be on the safe side.

Above all hang in there - I'm sure you're doing a great job!!
xx

Leaking poo all day seems like a different issue. He might be having tummy trouble. Maybe a trip to the doctor is in order?

Kids often go through this sort of regression, though. Especially with new or younger babies in the mix. My son gets so into playing he won't stop until it is too late to make it to the bathroom. I have to watch closely for signs that he needs to go and make him stop playing to try.
