I had a little more in the middle then I would like too and could not get the 3D ultrasound either. We even went to a company that was supposed to do a dvd in 3D and it would not work, but happy to say my son is 4 years old and a very healthy boy so no worried Mamma, you will just have to wait to see that little face when he/she is born.

this is my second and it's taking me a lot longer to feel this one than it did my first. with my first i felt her at 16wks but she was always a fiesty and very active kicker. she was wiggling all over the place at 11wks.

i'm 18wks or so, i have three due dates (June 27th through 29th) so i don't bother with how many days in xD but i'm only just barely feeling flutters and yes, i'm a "bigger girl" too. i never lost the baby weight from my first but i'm not gaining any with this one either so i hope to stay the same size at least until 6 or 7mos.

i have yet to get an ultrasound. my first will be February 13th, and if they tell me they can't see anything cuz i'm too fat i will be very pissed and tell them to f*ck off, but i'm irritable like that. i will be 21wks and i better be able to find out my baby's gender, by damn.

but the 3d ultrasound is usually standard. with my first, my OB had a machine that did both the 2d and 3d sonograms, and she could switch back and forth for them.

In my area, everyone is given a 3d ultrasound at 20 weeks (give or take 2 weeks) in order to measure the baby and make sure the baby is healthy. My doctors have it in their office but I have friends who see OBs that send them to the hospital to do it.

On average with a first pregnancy you start feeling the baby between 18-22 weeks. However, if you are bigger it may take a bit longer. I am very small and it was 19 weeks to feel my first. It was 15 weeks for my second but that is because I knew the difference between baby and gas -its very similar early on.

Congratulations and good luck!

It takes a little bit longer with your first one to feel the baby move. Especially if you are alittle bit on the heavier side. Don't worry, it should be any time now. Relax and enjoy the pregnancy. Pretty soon that's all you'll be able to feel is that baby moving, rolling, hiccupping, and kicking. It is the greatest feeling in the world. At first it will just be a kind of fluttering feeling, like butterflies in your stomach. Then it will build from there. Once you get the 3D ultrasound done you'll feel better, I'm sure. In the mean time, if the Dr says you guys are doing fine, go with that and the rest will come. Good luck!

Well I thank you for gettin back with me the last time I went to the docters she said everything was fine matter of fact I have been able to hear the baby's heartbeat since I was 8 weeks and 5 days. She said since I was a bigger girl that she wanted to do a 3d scane because the pictures will come out alot better. Because I asked her if there was anything wrong and was that the reasson why she was doing that and she said no she also told me had I been 100 pounds I wouldn't have to go and have that done because my pictures would come out great.
