This I know is going to sound very strange .. as I cant find it anywhere , my son who is not yet potty training managed to get his nappy off and did a poo on the floor , and managed to get some on his hand , it terrified him and he screamed for a long while although I cuddled him and said it was ok ... well whats happening now is he is scared when he has a poo ... especially in his nappy .. im at a loss ... should I start potty training now , a bit dubious as hes so scared ... any advice would be most welcome

I know this is an old post but I just stumbled upon it today and was curious on how this played out with your son? My daughter is just over 16 months and was in hysterics when she had a blowout this morning. It was almost as if she was ashamed, I have never seen her like that before and not really sure where it's coming from.

It might still be abit to early for him to potty train, but he is in the age where you could give it a try. This might sound wierd, but since he is scared of the poo maybe you could try showing and explaining to him that he doesnt have to be scared of it. Try making up a funny song about poo that you could sing to him. I know it sounds silly but maybe it will help.
