I understand what is being said about meat being bad for you but a lot of people myself including like lean red meat, chicken, fish and in moderation it will be fine. It is my OPINION that if we listen to everything that is told to us about the food we eat we would all starve to death. The agencies that are forever telling us that something is bad for us usually end up coming back in a year or two and telling us that the study was flawed and it(whatever it may be) is not as bad as originally thought. I am all about organic food but it is not always readily available and if it is often cost a lot more and some people do not have the extra money to spend on organic. My the best food choices you can with what is available to you and use good common sense and moderation.

Trust me...lol... Weights do work. I wish I could post before and after pictures on here...:) The nice thing about weights for me was that I focused primarily on my legs/thighs. I have always been thick in the thighs, so I just turned it into pure muscle. That muscle burnt calories like crazy. Do some research on it and you will find a LOT of women advocating weightlifting for weightloss, over cardio.

Monique, if you are still reading these posts I have lost a LOT of weight in the past (100 lbs) and to lose that last 10 lbs the only thing that worked for me was weights and a low carb diet. I won't suggest a low carb diet, as it is not the healthiest thing in the world, but it does get results.
I did NOT limit myself to only lean meats. I would have a burger with my family, but instead of having crutons and a bun, I just dressed my burger up on a plate with feta, jalepeno peppers etc and at it with a knife and fork.
I have never looked so great in my life! lol. I can't wait to start getting back to the gym after this baby is born. Weights are key in my opinion (I hate cardio). They will make you feel healthy, like you can take on the world and make it a lot easier for your body to work of any extra calories. Honestly, I only spent 15 minutes at the gym every weekday and felt amazing.

Monique, you are only 1 month postpartum. You should not be exercising any more than walking right now anyway. If you had a flat belly prior to baby, you can expect to look pretty much the same by six months. Take it slow and steady. Once your doctor clears you for exercise, then start with crunches and more aerobic activity. Exercising too much, too soon can lead to uterine prolapse and urinary incontinence.

Joe what exactly are you talking about because nothing you said has anything to do with the conversation. No one was even talking about sex, oral or otherwise. If you have a valid comment make it if not go away.

Monique, Good Luck you will do fine just remember moderation. As far as she goes I normally try not to "feed her" but this was one of those times when I was actually beginning to think she was going to be nice and when she resorted to insults I had to reply. I actually wasn't thinking about what another parent told me a few weeks back when it comes to her. She said "repeat after me, NOT MY CIRCUS! NOT MY MONKEY!" I had been very good about it until this morning and I am truly sorry you had to witness her outburst and my less than mature replies. I hope this does not keep you from posting both questions and replies.

We will all die someday and some of us will go to Heaven and have a wonderful eternity and others will go to hell and burn. It is basically the circle of life. We are born, we live and we die.

Monique,
Just wanted to let you in a something. Although at times she makes very valid points and her input is useful she is our "resident troll". She can start out being very nice and helpful but as soon as someone says something that she does not agree with she starts in with her name calling, which in turn usually leads to other insults and threats to both you and your family including your children.
On another not I too enjoy my soda and it was the hardest thing for me to cut out. A word of advice don't try to do it cold turkey it is too hard. Do it gradually, I will still have a can of Mountain Dew usually once a week for a treat on the weekend and no I don't do the diet because I don't like the taste of the sweetener and it tends to give me a headache anytime I use artificial sweetener. The key word is moderation.

@ scream I do appreciate ur input but I do agree with chana it is the still a choice.. @ chana I so enjoy soda which I will now cut out completely .I don't eat a lot of meat .but I have it and do not wish to cut this out of my diet instead as u stated I shall have it in moderation. This has been very helpful.and ur post is also motivating Chana

First of all there are no buses were I live, I live in the country and when it is not snowing or freezing cold we are outside everyday and yes I do keep up with my girls and no they are not the slightest bit overweight. There are not many places I can walk to except the local vegetable growers in the summer and I do that almost everyday to get fresh vegetables for dinner. And just for the record I eat my vegetables and fruit except for beets and mushrooms(but that is actually a fungus). I have not denied that I could lose weight and I have and I will continue to do so by eating fruits and vegetables, meat in moderation, drinking plenty of no calories drinks and exercising as much as I can and enjoying my family and my life.

I did not resort to calling you names, you are the one that is constantly calling me fat on any post that I reply to regardless if it has anything to do with weight or not. I have not claimed to state any facts, I have said that it was my OPINION. Furthermore, I never said that it was difficult to exercise I said I was limited in what I could do so use what is available to you. So if you have nothing to say that is nice or meaningful to the original post please stop insulting me.

I am done! I was being nice merely trying to state some facts and my opinions in hope of helping Monique. You started out being very nice but then YOU had to start with your mean mouth. I have lost 10 pounds since January and am very proud of that because it wasn't easy. I was basically telling her what I did. Everything in moderation. If you chose to be vegan that is your choice but that does not mean it is the right choice very everyone. If you are going to start being evil again go back under your rock!

I think if you eat lean meat in moderation and choose to eat vegetables and fruit that is the best place to start. Give up soda/pop because although it may taste good it is just empty calories. Go for flavored waters and if you like the carbonation as I do there is a lot of good carbonated water choices out there and even flavored waters that have no calories but contain vitamins and antioxidants. Try to exercise regular that is my biggest problem because I have two little girls and there is not a gym close to us so I would have to drive 30 plus miles so I am limited to what I can do at home but you make use of what you have available. Everything in moderation is the key.

I'm not going to list healthy foods here. Surely you know what is healthy and what isn't.
Lean meats, fresh fruit and vegetables and not huge portions.
Walking isn't enough exercise either, you need to get your heart rate up to burn extra calories.
Maybe go and ask your doctor for advice.

You need to eat healthy and exercise. It doesn't go away on it's own, you have to work at it.
