Hi there, i have not been officially diagnosed with this condition but so much of my symptoms echo what i read so i am preparing myself or the diagnosis. i had my son 8-3-14. Seven days later i was told by the er that i was in heart failure. two days after that i had a echo which came back mormal and my dr said the heart failure was caused by the volume overload from pregnancy and delivery. Now four months later i still have symptoms, though none nearly as severe as the very first time( swelling, difficulty breathing and not being able to lay down without gasping for air). i am so scared of being told that i do have this disease. i have anxiety attacks and am obsessed with investgating it. i have a dr appt tuesday. please pray for me! has this particular situation ever happened to anyone. simple fluid overload? and what was your symptoms

Your fluid overload should be resolved by now. If you had a "normal" echo, I would have it re-read. Put your heart into the hand of a top notch cardiologist, not your OB and not your primary doctor. You do not want to waste time if you do have pregnancy induced cardiomyopathy.
