I have a 3 year old baby girl and I'm training her to use the bathroom. Every time I take her to the bathroom she doesn't want to sit on the toilet she just cries! What must I do? Please, I need help!

My now 4 and half year old son became potty trained at 3 1/2 yrs. I tried to potty train him much earlier but he would just not co operate! I felt I would never be able to train him. I waited next 8-9 months. Then it was time for pre school! So I just started keeping him without diaper.... It worked! When he wet his pant couple of times and also did poopoo once in his pant, he himself so wet and gross! He started to tell me he wanted to go to the bathroom! I tucked him in bed without diaper. He wet the bed few times but himself was ashamed of it. He realized it was gross. He started going to the bathroom. Within a month he was totally diaper free.
I realized cleaning up few times was worth trying it!

If she actually cries over it it might be a good idea to back off for a couple of weeks before trying again. She may just not be ready, and you simply can't force it. Wait 2 weeks or so, and while you wait pay close attention to what times of day she goes potty in her diaper or pull-up. Then when you come back to training later you can start with an idea of when to emphasize time on the potty; maybe have a funny book she likes that she ONLY gets to look at when she is on the potty...but from my experience with 3 boys, one of whom is 3 yrs. 3 months and just this week decided he was ready to go exclusively on the toilet, you can't force it and they will ultimately be the ones who decide when they are ready.

hi. I have four daughters and let me tell you, potty training girls is a task! LOL I have learned from my experience is lil girls go to the potty when they are ready. I do agree with Jodi. If you want your daughter to use the potty she has to be comfortable. My now 5 year old, when potty training her, we had to put the potty in our bedroom, cus the bathroom was not her friend. LOL See if it works. Keep me posted.

Where is the potty located? She may not want to use it in the bathroom, if that's where you have her using it. Maybe try a different area of the house.

Do you have a potty she could use? Or a toddler toilet seat on your toilet? These may work better while she is training.
