my son is 2 1/2 and I am attempting potty training. It seems more like a three ringed circus of the blind leading the blind! Any advice????

YOU CAN TRY THE AWARDS SYSTEM, YOU CAN MAKE IT FEEL LIKE A GAME, AND IF DAD IS AROUND, LET HIM GO IN THERE WITH HIM, BECAUSE CHILDREN, LOVE TO INMITATE ADULTS.

I am attempting the same thing with my 2 .5 year old. He does well with the pee pee...whether it's the toilet or potty. It's the poos. For peeing I let him run around bottomless while we're at home. However for the number two's (big sigh) he will hold it until he has a pull up on. I am going to try the reward system.

Put Fruit Loops cereal in the toilet and have him aim for them. You could use cheerios, but the coloured cereal is better.

Put one or more stickers on the bottom of the toilet and make a game out of it. Have him aim for each one and he has to hit one or more the whole time or he loses. Give him a reward each time he succeeds. Same for poos. 9rewards that is.) Oh and you MUST see it for him to get one. make sure he knows that or he may start taking you for a ride just for the stickers or candy or whatever the reward is. He also can only have that certain thing for a reward when he uses the bathroom. Encourage daddy to take him to the bathroom when he needs to use it too so that your son can see how daddy does it. (it helps trust me, watch and learn theory.) Other than that just take him every 2-3 hours to 'try" and see how it goes. If he rebels let him. You don't want to put him off about it all but he does need to learn to be a "big boy".
good luck
