I understand the problem now with potty training with pull-ups. So my question is, how do you potty train without them, but keep them from wetting the carpet or furniture?

My first time around... I potty trained naked (there was 100% success while naked) and with pull ups during sleep and out in public.

My last time around.... my kid potty trained himself in diapers.

I was not interested in accidents all over my house. I would not be able to handle that. They all potty trained by a few months short of turning 3 which was perfectly fine with me.

Short of putting rubber covers on everything, or rubber pants on her (which essentially have the same effect as pullups...), there's nothing you can do, except be super attentive, and get some good carpet/upholstery cleaner that you can spray/vacuum up.

Well that's part of the problem. She only shows cues when she's pooping, not when she's peeing. I don't care if she wets her clothes I can easily wash them. It's the carpet and funiture I'm worried about :(

you have to be extra attentive. I didn't use pullups, my son knew what diapers/pullups were for, and he'd use that rather than the toilet, so I didn't give him a choice. It only took a few days of wetting himself, and having to wash the underpants every time, for him to get the picture.

But, like I said, you have to be on hand and paying total attention to the signs, which are usually quite visible. Good luck!
