My baby Matthew was born on October 21 with only 26 weeks . It was a susprise for everybody he came unexpected. We had a plan to take time off after deliver him and share time as a family. Unfornately thigs never happens the way we wanted. After being at the NICU for 87 days my FMLA time was gone and I needed to go back before he was discharge and safe that time when he is coming home. I was running between work and the hospital everyday , with stress and the fact to feel guilty for being next to him. That situation made me think why do we have to deal with this when neither of these families go it in this situation in purpose. In other countries maternity live is longer and if you have a preemie your time at the hospital is respected and they will give you the extra time to bond and take care of our babies. I don't know how thigs work in this country but we should be together and make a petition to check these cases. We may have a change we may not but it woth the try, we may help future mom or even us if this happen again. What do you think.
