It is hard to understand why bad things happen to good people. God answers prayers, but sometimes his answer may not be answer you want. Acceptance can be very difficult. Do you have any other children? I hope your labs are continuing to increase.

This is where I turn to faith, if you are at all faithful... you know that someone greater is in control. The baby you are meant to parent, is the baby you will find. Be it naturally, IVF, adoption or whatever. You will know your child when you meet him or her.

It does, and there is nothing you can do to fix it. I'd find a new doctor. If you are off a few days in conception you could double your number more slowly. Please let me know what today's number is and I am here to support you or grieve with you. I saw your old post about your tubal reversal. Do you have kids? Why are you wanting another now? My aunt had a baby at 47! So certainly you are not too old! Hang in there.

Nicole, while it is true and an HCG that is not steadily rising indicates that the pregnancy is not likely viable. If your numbers are nearly doubling, or at least 1.5 times in 48 hours, then don't give up hope. How many HCG have you had? How great an increase in the number and how far apart were they done?

I don't know why your family won't understand, that is sad. For as early as you are 422 is not abnormally low. Also, the single reading is not very useful. It does confirm a fertilization. What is more useful will be the doubling of that number every 48-72 hours. Do not panic is your don't double in 48 hours, sometimes it does take a little longer. Even more useful would be an US in a week or two when the gestational sac can be visualized. If there is no bleeding or evidence that you are miscarrying, then frustratingly; it is a waiting game right now.
