To start at the beginning, last month I was 12 days on my period, I took a home pregnancy test after 5 days and it was negative, and that period was not a normal one for me, this month I am 5 days late and home pregnancy test says negative, I have been feeling like I had when I was pregnant before, little nausea in the morning and at night and just icky feeling, I called the doctor and he said that by symptoms it sounds like I could be pregnant but my hormones just aren't high enough yet....I go in for a test at the doctor tomorrow, has anybody else had this happen to them before?!?!?!

Yes yes yes. This has happened to me with both my pregnancies. It only showed postitive when I was four months pregnant - and that was only through a blood test. Those other gadgets don't work on me. And now after 11 years later after my second child, I am pregnant again and again I cannot rely on these gadgets. The doc and blood test is the only way to go if you are anything like me.

I have a real issue because i am so far 3 days late on my period. With my first child i only took a test because i realized i was a week late. Now i have been tracking my periods because i want another child. But i have no symptoms. I never had any with my first child either. The test i took with him only showed a dim dim line. I am getting nothing on my tests now. I cant even go to the doctor because they only do pee tests at these doctors. Its good to know there are others like me.

Well had my blood test today, they said I should have the results Monday, so wish me luck that its positive! And not ectopic:) But keep replying!

I'm apparently the hormone queen because I never had this happen. I took a test with my 4th child a week BEFORE my period was due (I just knew I was pregnant by how I felt and people were asking me if I was). It was already positive! Those tests are super sensitive so they usually are positive if you're pregnant. I second what Leaha said, make sure the pregnancy is where it should be if you are pregnant. An ectopic pregnancy will give you weird HCG levels.

I have had this happen and was told 3 times "you're prgenant-you lost it". It was a nightmare that included having to have one round of chemo, as they said "to rid my body of tissue that wasn't vialble". I ended up in the hosptial 2 months after the nightmare began, taken by ambulance, basically ignore for 6 hours until a CAT scan was performed and then rushed in for surgery. I had an ectopic pregnancy the whole time and had they performed the correct tests this could've been avoided. The hospital wouldn't tell me how many blood transfusions I received during my 4 day stay but when I left my hemoglobin was only at 6. It was a 4 month recovery!! Ask lots of questions and be persistent if they are uncertain. You are your strongest advocate for your health!!!

I just went through this. Mine turned out to be ectopic though. MAKE your doctor order a quantative HCG test for you to determine how far along you infact are, and also to make sure your pregnancy is in the right spot. Ask him for an early ultra sound too. Don't wait like I did.

If your feelings are the same as you had when you were pregnant before, you are probably pregnant. Your doctor is probably right about your hormone levels being to low to show on the pregancy test. My sister knew she was pregnant with her second when she began having the same symptoms as with the first. However, she took 3 pregnancy tests (each one a few days apart) before she finally got one that was positive.
