I'm breastfeeding my 3 month old daughter and have not yet had a period. I've been having headaches off and on and nausea also.I have had period like cramps for the past 3 weeks but no period. My milk supply has become less. I took 3 home pregnancy tests in the past 3 weeks but they all were negative. Could I still be pregnant even though the tests are negative?

Well, you could be pregnant. I have a niece who is only a tiny bit younger than her sister because my sister-in-law believed that you can't get pregnant while breastfeeding.

On the other hand, these could all be signs that your period is coming back, not that you're pregnant. It's pretty weird the first couple of cycles, and I know it affects your milk.

I didn't get my period back until a month after I'd stopped nursing my son (9 months), but I know it's different for different women.

I would assume you are not pregnant with the neg pregnancy tests but you should ask your doc for an hCg just to be sure. I have gotten pregnant 4 times while breastfeeding, so YEP, if you're having sex, it's possible to be pregnant!

I'd wait a little longer before trying to get pregnant. Give your body a little time to heal. I think it's 9 months minimum between pregnancies?

I didn't like guiness at first, but then I started to enjoy it. Make sure it is ice cold (use a frosted mug also if you have one) pour it, but let the head settle...then chug-a-lug!

Thankyou! Btw, I forgot to mention that we are not using protection becaue we want our little ones close. I am just a bit confusedby what my body is trying to tell me! I hve been drinking lots of water. I will definantly try to beer. If I can keep it down(I hate beer! Bleh!). Lol and I'm not a smoker. Thankyou so much for the imput! I will wait a week more or so and test again.

Yup I believe you can be. But, breastfeeding can totally keep your period away for a good amount of time. With my son, i did not start it until I was 5 months out. With my daughter it was more like 1 year. Just make sure you are using protection every time you have sex. Just because you are not currently getting your period, does not mean you are not ovulating....which in turn means you can get preggo any time. Wait another week or 2 and then take another test.

As for your milk supply running low, make sure you are drinking a ton of water. Also, drink a Guiness beer. If you drink it at night, you will notice your boobs will engorge the next day. Don't smoke, that will reduce your supply also. BTW, after drinking the beer, it leaves your breats milk the same way it leaves your blood stream. So if you can, give yourself 1-2 hours before BFing after drinking. Do not pump and dump, that is just a waste of milk.

Make sure to do your kegals, that will help with getting your muscles back in line, and may help with the cramps.
