My son is 2 years and 8 months. My in laws live with us.Now a days my kid throws tantrums in such a way that it is becoming very difficult to control him.He howls and screams and when i ignore his grandfather comes to console him.So there is no end to this.Every time he cries for some thing I try calming him and try talking he runs to his grandfather.I tried telling the elders to ignore him but they take offence of it and results in upsetting them.My concern is where am I going wrong.I know kids undergo a phase wherein they become very stubborn but how do i handel it.Small things like oneday he doesnt want to change his dress after coming from school I tell him its ok but at the same time try making him understand that his dress is dirty and if he wears it whole day its not good. But this whole scene would be with him crying and telling me that he wont change so my talking in a calm manner goes deaf ears. This whole concept of ignore your kid when he cries dosent work with him as he continues to cry and after a while goes to someone who is going to pamer him.So the whole process of my trying to teach my child some thing is wasted. Please help me and guide me how do I understand my child better. At times I feel I am probably becoming stubborn or going very hard on him and so he is just defending himself.
