Sarah/Jodi/Gena/Dove/Michelle, my 1st response count hardly ever changes. I've asked why it seems screwed up, and no answer. I saw a while back that some seemed flipped, too, like Michelle and Gena's are really noticeable.

Kathryn, providing an e-mail does not mean this site is a joke. You can customize your settings to not get many notices and crap. We have enough trolls that sign up, don't need the extra riff-raff that not signing up would lead to.

I emailed them about it a couple of weeks ago and they said they'd fix it, but looks like they don't give a crap about that either. Nothing new - just another glitch!

No I didn't Dove. I hadn't even noticed until you just mentioned it. Something strange going on.

I guess I am not really understanding this question. Are you pissed that you had to provide and email address to sign up> That's pretty standard for anything these days. It certainly isn't exclusive to this site.

I wonder how mine will appear? ETA: well, something's wrong with my post counts, but whatever...LOL (end of edit)

Anywhoo...To the OP, Kathryn, why don't you have your own email account? Both hubs and I have separate ones, but that really doesn't matter in my house, because we also share everything, including our separate forums that we're members of. He regularly reads (and sometimes responds) to questions here, and vice versa.

You really should have your own email, though, even if it is just a gmail or hotmail that you can use. Why would your husband be upset that you're part of a parenting forum for moms?

FYI, in order to sign up for ANYTHING online now, you have to have an email address, so this site is no different, in that regard. And, as far as privately, well...no one actually KNOWS you on here, so that's about as private as you're gonna get. We're a public, open, international forum, so...

My posts number go up but my first responder number never changes, I gave up. I have this linked to my own gmail account. I do not share my email with my husband but you can go to settings and shut off your email notifications. Then your hubby won't get dozens of emails from CoM.
Jodi, Gena and Michelle.. maybe you maxed out and rolled over to 0?

My post counts also changed once overnight! Like the others said, get your own email. I have my settings so I don't even get a mail for an alert. And it is normal signing up for any site they usually need your email address.

I have a separate email address that I use JUST for this site... and I have the settings as such that I do not get email notifications from this site...

Getting your own email address is simple and free. This site isn't a joke... You have to have an email address to sign up for MOST sites on the internet.

You don't have to use your real name but we don't want random people posting on here. We already have problems with auto spammers so it's a way of protecting everyone.
Why don't you have your own email? Hotmail and gmail accounts are free.

What I wanted was a little support, feed back, etc. Why can't I do that privately?
