I have a 17 year old aspie son..I love him very much and after many years of work alone, with no help from his father..I am a nurse but am now on stress leace for a couple thigs, one being a severe back injury. I still take care of my son every day but there I days I have to dissapoint him when I am ill.
I will try to keep this short. I married my ex, my sonwas born the next year and I left shortly after, my sonwas one.( Abusive and unhealthy) He fought and would not let me take anthing from the house. The divorce was longer than the marriage. He went through four lawyers because he was not getting his own way. He did have to pay me a settlement in the end but I ended up with 3000.00 after payiny the 12,000 in legal fees. I can say he has paid support...now this has been going on 17 years...one year only he gave me post dated cheques, it is through pay pal. Generally I have to message him it to put it in...he forgets...he leads an active life! No time for his son! Sick!
I qualified for legal aid last year....got a lawyer and she sent her first letter, mind you I have pictures and printed his facebook, mototclyces, raally cars, many, many vacations...etc. Ho works full time and is the owher of his own business too. I had a cheque because he gave me the wrong one one day and I photocopied it...proving he has his own business. The lawyer thought we had a great shot. Our original order states he must provide me with his income tax, they only go back years but I not seen one income tax....always had an excuse..I gave up.
Now...my son is turning 18...he is going to have to pay until he is 25...i could not pay legal aid 400.00 per month so he got away with not doing anything and just avoiding. He sees my son about 4 times for year...whenever he feels like it. I have no help and no respite and I myself am ill. Does anyone know anyone that would take over a case pro bono....knowing in the end he/she would get paid.....he owes me ten years back pay and has never acknoledged this should go up due to my sons special needs????? Anyone have anything similar or know a lawyer that could help!
