Problem with my In Laws

Vindhya - posted on 12/19/2012 ( no moms have responded yet )

Right from the day we got married my in laws try to involve too much in our lives like for eg they came for our honeymoon.say how our house should be...wht to our stuff with others etc...they come from a village and My FIL is authoritative and very dominating and my MIL looks soft but commands in a soft way and tells how a woman should be like wake up early in the mrg, cook, serve clean be down to earth etc.Gives males first priority wear sarees...etc...(Helloooo i'm working as a lead and have too much stress to handle)

We moved to US 3 yrs after marriage and I immediately conceived. They started calling us a looot and insisted that they will come for my delivery which my husband rejected. They want to see US and enjoy. Finally my mom came and the baby is born. They started calling daily(sometimes even twicea day) and I felt very disturbed and my baby would wake up and wht is the need to call daily and not talk abt the baby????...I said calm and did not say a word

With so many calls to my husband they somehow managed to come to US when the baby is 6.5 months. And once they arrived they are like madly in luv with US and hardly took care of the baby. They did not even respond when the baby is crying. My MIL forgot sarees and started wearing dresses and ready to leave me and the baby @ home and go out for site seeing.....They travelled to their relatives house and stayed for 1 month there enjoying and did not even call much when the baby is sick with ear infection for that whole month...instead they say we worry a looooot...

My MIL started using all american terms,,,learning everything she can possibly and shows lil interes in the husband knows all this and says to's easy for him as he stays only couple of hrs @ home...but it's getting really hard for me...I can't stop reacting to them but they just smile and leave.....pressure is building up...donno what to do...please help
