I need some advice on how to settle my 16 month old after she wakes during the night. If i can't get her to settle straight away, i often put her in bed with me until she goes to sleep but some times this doesn't work as i often get tired and fall asleep with her instead of putting her back in her bed. But i also have a 4.5 yr old which i don't want woken up, which is why i prefer my baby not to cry. I don't won't this to become another bad habit, as i did the same thing with my older daughter and i know how bad it is. Any advice so i don't keep going down the same road?

Thanks Sharon. Its just so hard sometimes, as she used to sleep through every night. But i suppose the colder night are waking her.

We had this same issue with our little man, now 20mths. And I fell into the trap of letting him into our bed, then either falling asleep or being far too tired to move him. Now he has started waking again, I think it has something to do with our newborn. I will sit on the floor of his room until he nods off again. Thankfully it usually doesn't take too long as I try to catch him before he gets too awake.
