My baby is 6 weeks old and had an USS yesterday. It was a follow up from one he had at birth because he was a little bit sleepy for the first week. He was born at 37 weeks. He is reaching all of his milestones so far. Sucks well, seems to hear, startles to sounds and moves all limbs and appears to focus on things close to him. He is a bit grumpy after feeds, but is not 'irritable'
The USS showed periventricular leukomalacia with cysts. We had an MRI today but don't have the results. Does anyone have a similar case....particularly with cysts? It is hard to believe that there is anything wrong with our little boy as he looks and behaves completely normal at the moment. We are unsure if this will definitely develop cerebral palsy.
Any feed back good or bad is appreciated. We are quite in shock at present and waiting to see our paediatrician.
