I have a question for everyone, hope you don't mind me asking. I am the mother of a beautiful 16 month old boy and recently I have become overwhelmed with the fear he maybe showing autism symptoms. I of course no little on this except what I read on the Internet. He is really not talking says dada, momma and sissy but very seldom. He does babble alot at times. I have seen him walking on his toes and he will spin himself in circles but not all the time. Last night my daughter picked him up and spinned him around then he got down and started spinning so I think he just may enjoy it. He understands what I am saying if I say wanna take a bath he goes to the bathroom door. Hungry he goes to his highchair and if he wants a drink he brings me his cup. He does not often turn his head to his name and that has been something I have always notified. He does not line things up or spin any of his toys. Am I just being paranoid? Thank you everyone.

I would not assume anything. Going on the internet feeds into your assumptions too. If you want an answer, take him to your doctor and have him evaluated. Toe walking is common, it doesn't mean "autism", so is some babbling at his age. Look up milestones for 16 month old's and see if he has met those before you think of autism. I believe it's Otherwise just type in milestones for 16 month old's.

At this point I wouldn't be concerned. I have worked with autistic children and he just sounds like he may have a delay. But don't take my word for it, look up the milestones :)
