My husband was active duty Air Force and he was gone a lot too.

What helped me was interacting with any of the Military Wife Groups. There are services and support offered through being a part of this. Fun nights out for you and women to talk and relate with. Babycare and much more, you'd be surprised.

I also am very active in my church. That was my family for me. Very concerned how I was, there to help me with things around the house, inviting me over for meals when he was away.

I also focused on improving myself while he was away. It took care of time.

Focus on things for you and the baby, like mommy & me groups or classes.

I as well focused on his happiness. I sent him care packages. Silly things like (morale wigs) that's what he called them. Silly costume wigs. They would take pictures of the guys wearing them and email those pictures back. I would send his his favorite mailable food too. Anything to bring a smile to him. It's not easy.

A good long phone call back home, worked too.

im not a military wife but a single mom with a 4 month old what i try to do is take time out for myself while he/ my son is sleeping like taking a nap or clean or doing something i love but if your talking about spending time like a family try like a movie and popcorn or fixing a nice dinner to set down to once in as while it might make seem more fun or more togetherness even if its really late
